Wellserv Australia; a leading Directional Drilling Services and Equipment provider is seeking to expand activities within its Coal Bed Methane (CBM) services division. We are currently looking for a Field Services Supervisor for the ever growing Australian Natural Gas Market.
This position will be responsible for the following tasks:
• Manage a small team of MWD/DD (steering engineers) involved in all facets of Directional Drilling operations for Resources and Energy Sector.
• To directly supervise and have the responsibility for all field operations including equipment and personnel movement.
• Monitoring of field activities ensuring that daily, weekly and monthly targets and KPI’s are achieved.
• Manage client/customer relationships and customer complaints.
• Ensure field equipment (MWD tools, Collars and ancillary) is inspected and maintained in accordance with company policy and customer requirements.
• Conduct regular field, quality and OHS&E audits.
• Responsible for the coordination and reporting of our QHSE Management System in the field. Updating JSA’s, SOPs and Field related plan, policies and guidelines would also be a part of your job description.
• Assists in the planning of operations with Engineers/Technicians to ensure high quality service with the best economical and technical efficiency.
• Ensures prompt, accurate and efficient administration & reporting.
• Be able to validate well plans and conduct engineering review of documents and processes.
• Reviews and appraises the performance of field engineers, consistent with performance objectives, and determines the need for additional training, in a fair and consistent manner.
• Holds systematic pre-job and post-job debriefing sessions with field crews as a proactive way of improving service quality and correcting deficiencies through corrective action plans.
• The role also involves supervising and training field engineers on tool theory and operations
The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate the following essential skills:
• Must have an extensive knowledge of the repair, maintenance and operational knowledge of MWD and DD equipment and components.
• Ability to organize, co-ordinate and mange workflow and appropriate documentation.
• Must have the ability to communicate with management, staff and customers both written and orally.
• Shares both responsibility and accountability; tends to trust people to perform; endures direct reports finish their own work.
• Good at establishing clear directions; sets stretching objectives; is a clear communicator.
• Negotiates skillfully in tough situations with both internal and external groups.
• Prior Oilfield, CBM, HDD or similar experience is a must for this role. The perfect candidate needs to demonstrate either 3-4 years Oilfield MWD experience or 4-5 years CBM experience. Any previous experience with Gyro or Surveying tools would be highly regarded for this job. Past experience with ranging tools will also be highly regarded.
The position would require you to work 13 days on 13 days off rotational roster (FIFO). The chosen candidate will be given hands on training on Wellserv Tools, Theory, Operations and Procedures. Based on candidate’s capabilities, he/she would either directly join the work force as field services supervisor or will be groomed into the position over a period of 6-8 months. Remuneration is commensurate to the applicant’s relevant skill and experience. Successful applicants will be required to undertake pre-employment medical, drug & alcohol screen and Coal Board Medical as well as a National Police Clearance.
